China's machinery industry maintained steady progress in 2024, with 132,000 above-scale enterprises and total assets reaching 39.4 trillion yuan. The added value increased by 6.0% year-on-year, 0.2 percentage points higher than the national industry. Automobile production and sales hit a record high, with new energy vehicles maintaining rapid growth; output of electrical appliances and processing equipment rose steadily. Foreign trade performed brilliantly, with total import and export volume exceeding 1.17 trillion US dollars for the first time, export volume reaching 869.36 billion US dollars, and trade surplus hitting 569.69 billion US dollars.
The industry achieved remarkable transformation, with technological innovation enhancing industrial foundations, accelerated green and low-carbon transition, rapid development of smart factories and intelligent manufacturing equipment, and frequent breakthroughs in major technical equipment. The industry is expected to maintain steady development in 2025, contributing to building a manufacturing power.
